Saint Véran Vieilles Vignes LOUIS LORON & FILS

Designation

In the southernmost part of the Saône-et-Loire region, on the border of Beaujolais, the Arlois Valley clearly defines a geological difference between the Mâconnais and its southern neighbor. Close to Pouilly-Fuissé, northern Saint-Véran extends from Prissé and Davayé, southern Saint-Véran to Chasselas, Leynes, Chânes, Saint-Vérand and several plots in Solutré-Pouilly and Saint-Amour-Bellevue. This elegant white wine that used to be called white Beaujolais, owes its generosity and subtlety to Chardonnay.

Winemaking and growing

Grapes are pressed as soon as they arrive at our wineries. Alcoholic fermentation takes place over fifteen days at a low temperature (12 to 16°C) to maintain the Chardonnay's freshness as well as its aromas. We only use our stainless steel vats for fermentation. Saint Véran old vines age for 8 months in demi muids to produce more body and to develop aromas.
